Finally got around to upgrading from warty to hoary (Ubuntu releases), in doing so discovered my server had crashed! It must have been crashed for days without me knowing (core systems were OK, it seems X crashed of its own accord and took down the display and Mr Postman).

On the subject of such things, OpenOffice 2 is looking good (funnily enough its looking even more like Microsoft Office). At last an alternative to Microsoft Access =)

Howeverm, on a more sinful note my Beta copy of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 showed up yesterday, but I need RAM and a DVD drive before I can install it. (It came on Four DVDs!)

First AS Level today - General Studies - and I sat harder SATs papers I think. General Studies seems to comprise of totally random questions none of which we have been taught anything about (even though I actually bothered turning up to most of the lessons!) It begs the question why they bother teaching it to us at all.
